GLP-1 price changes in 2025 and 2026: a dated record

Brand-name GLP-1 cash prices fell sharply between November 2025 and spring 2026. Novo Nordisk cut its standard Wegovy self-pay price from $499 to $349 a month [6], TrumpRx.gov launched with the makers’ discounted prices, and new lower-priced forms arrived: the Wegovy pill, the Zepbound KwikPen and Foundayo. This page lists each official announcement with its date and source, and ends with the prices posted today.

Novo Nordisk’s November release said the Ozempic 2 mg self-pay price would stay at $499 [7]. Ozempic is a diabetes medicine; it appears here only because the announcements covered it.

What changed after the first announcements

Two of the early offers were later changed on the makers’ own pages:

  • Wegovy’s $199 new-patient price was extended. In November 2025 it ran to March 31, 2026 [5]. NovoCare now offers it for two monthly fills through December 31, 2026 [24].
  • The Wegovy 4 mg pill went up. Its limited-time price applied to fills by 8/31/2026 [21]; the standard 4 mg price is now $199 a bottle [22].
  • Foundayo has temporary prices too. Lilly says its 2.5 mg and 5.5 mg prices are reduced only through December 31, 2026 [18].

The TrumpRx launch figures above were averages and “as low as” prices across doses [11] [13], so they do not match any single dose. For each dose, see TrumpRx prices.

How GLPLens tracks prices from here

GLPLens began its own weekly price checks in September 2026. The price index shows the lowest verified yearly cost for each medicine from the first check onward, and the weekly price check shows what was re-read each week. Lilly’s investor website refuses automated reading, so the Lilly row for November 6, 2025 comes from the same Lilly release as distributed on PR Newswire [37]. The Wegovy pill launch prices come from Novo Nordisk’s US release of January 5, 2026 [36].

Lilly’s own releases on its 2025 Zepbound vial prices, which we read in a browser: on February 25, 2025 it cut the 2.5 mg vial to $349 a month [38] and the 5 mg vial to $499 [39], and priced the 7.5 mg and 10 mg vials at $499 when refilled within 45 days, down from $599 and $699 [40]. On December 1, 2025 it cut them again, to $299 for 2.5 mg, $399 for 5 mg and $449 for the other doses in its Self Pay Journey Program [41].
