Amazon One Medical GLP-1 care: visit fees, drug prices and states

Amazon One Medical sells a pay-per-visit GLP-1 weight loss consult for $39 by message or $59 by video, in 48 states and Washington, DC [1]. The visit fee does not include the medicine: you pay a pharmacy for that separately, and Amazon Pharmacy’s cash prices for brand-name GLP-1s start at $149 a month for pills and $199 a month for injections [7] [8].

Two different One Medical options

Amazon runs two versions of One Medical weight care [3]:

  • Scheduled visits with a One Medical primary care clinician, only in areas that have One Medical offices. These can be billed to insurance; Amazon says One Medical takes most major plans for them and that copays and deductibles may apply [17].
  • On-Demand Care, the cash option, by message or video. Amazon updated its announcement on September 15, 2026 to add video visits and reach 48 states plus DC [2]. One Medical does not take health insurance for On-Demand Care [10].

Amazon’s announcement does not list which states are left out. The One Medical page adds that message visits are not offered in some states [11].

How an On-Demand visit works

You fill in a health screening and upload your most recent lab results for the clinician to review [4]. A licensed clinician then evaluates you by message or video and, if a GLP-1 is appropriate, can write the prescription in that same visit [9]. Questions about that visit are covered for 14 days [5]. To move up a dose or when you are running low, you start a new visit [6], and On-Demand visits are priced per visit [1].

Three limits are worth knowing before you book:

  • Lab work is not included in the visit price [11].
  • On-Demand Care does not help with prior authorization [1], which is the paperwork most insurers want before they cover a GLP-1 for weight loss.
  • One Medical clinicians will not prescribe compounded GLP-1s; if you are on one, they can help you switch to a standard product [12].

What the medicine costs

Amazon Pharmacy’s cash prices start at $149 a month for the Wegovy and Foundayo pills, and as low as $25 a month for people whose insurance covers them [7]. Its lowest cash price across the Wegovy and Zepbound injections is $199 a month [8].

“Starting at” means the lowest dose. Novo Nordisk’s own pharmacy shows how the Wegovy pill price climbs with the dose: $149 for 1.5 mg, $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg [16]. Manufacturer coupons cannot be used by anyone eligible for a state or federal health program, such as Medicare or Medicaid [13].

Put together with Amazon’s own figures, a first month on the lowest Wegovy pill dose with a message visit comes to $39 plus $149, or $188, before any lab costs [1] [7] [11]. Later months add the higher-dose price and a new visit fee each time you move up. Medicare patients

Amazon Pharmacy also fills Wegovy, the Zepbound KwikPen and Foundayo for eligible Medicare patients at $50 a month [14]. That price comes from the federal Medicare GLP-1 Bridge, which runs through December 31, 2027 for Part D members who meet clinical criteria [15].
