Coby review

What it is

Coby, run by Coby Health, sells compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide online, paid in cash, one month at a time or in prepaid bundles. Its FAQ says its providers may also prescribe brand-name GLP-1s [2]. It calls itself a patient management platform that links patients with independent physicians and practitioners [1].

What it prescribes

Coby’s FAQ says its partner providers may prescribe FDA-approved drugs such as Wegovy or Zepbound, as well as compounded ones [2]. So this review counts it as offering both. In practice, though, the treatment menu lists only the compounded injections, and the site gives no brand-name price or ordering page. If you want a brand-name drug, ask before you pay.

Coby’s own pages state that its compounded semaglutide is not reviewed or approved by FDA for safety or effectiveness [3]. FDA says the same of compounded drugs in general [15]. For approved options, see our Wegovy and Zepbound pages.

What it costs

Coby publishes prices for its compounded drugs only; no brand-name price appears on the site. It prices monthly orders by dose, so the bill goes up as the dose goes up. The price covers the consultation, prescription, drug and shipping [8].

The product pages also list six-month and same-dose bundles at lower monthly rates. Coby says it charges no subscription or membership fee for GLP-1 drugs [9]. It does not take insurance [10]; see GLP-1 costs without insurance for brand-name cash prices.

Where it operates

Coby offers its GLP-1 programs in every state except Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and New Mexico [11]. That leaves 46 states [11].

Signing up and cancelling

When you submit the online visit, Coby places a hold on your card for the full order [12]. It says you are charged only if a licensed provider approves you [13].

Monthly orders can be stopped at any time [9]. Cancelling an order before it goes to the pharmacy is possible but not guaranteed, a $50 visit fee is kept, and shipped orders cannot be refunded [14]. Our guide to cancelling a GLP-1 program has a checklist.

Safety and regulatory record

A search of FDA’s warning letter database for Coby and Coby Health returned no warning letter when this page was updated. Coby’s compounded drugs are still not FDA approved [15].

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Coby suits someone paying cash who wants a compounded drug, a posted price list and no subscription. Look elsewhere if you live in one of the four excluded states, if you expect to reach a high dose on monthly orders, or if you want an FDA-approved medicine.
