Hone Health review

What it is

Hone Health is a telehealth clinic focused on hormones and longevity, with separate men’s and women’s programs. Clinical care comes from Broad Health, an independent physician-owned medical group that Hone contracts with [11]. Weight loss is one of several services, and every patient starts with a paid lab test and a physician consult.

What it prescribes

Hone’s only GLP-1 is compounded liraglutide, a daily injection [13]. Hone’s own page says the product is compounded, is not approved by FDA, and that FDA does not verify the safety or effectiveness of compounded drugs [2]. FDA adds that it does not review compounded drugs for quality either [12]. We found no compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide, and no Wegovy, Zepbound or Foundayo, on its weight-loss pages.

The same pages list other, non-GLP-1 options, such as naltrexone, bupropion, phentermine and topiramate, each priced per month plus membership [7].

What it costs

Hone splits the cost into three parts:

• A lab test of $65 to start, at a partner lab or at home where available [6].
• A membership: Basic at $25 a month [3] or Premium at $155 a month, which Hone describes as full access to its medications [4].
• The drug: compounded liraglutide from $160 a month plus membership [1].

Hone says it is not an insurer and its services are not insurance products [9]. We found nothing on its site about billing insurance for the medicine.

Signing up and cancelling

Hone advertises no commitments and says you can cancel anytime [5]. Its terms confirm that a subscription can be cancelled at any time, but fees already paid are not refundable [8]. See our cancellation guide.

Hone’s terms say its services may not be available in your state [10]. We found no state list.

Safety and regulatory record

GLPLens searched FDA’s warning-letter database in September and found no letter to Hone Health. Because its only GLP-1 is a compounded drug, GLPLens does not link to Hone Health.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

Hone may suit someone already using it for hormone or longevity care who wants weight support from the same clinic and lab work. It is a poor fit for anyone who wants semaglutide, tirzepatide or any FDA-approved GLP-1. Our programs page lists services that prescribe brand-name drugs.
