Pomegranate Health review

What it is

Pomegranate Health is an online clinic that treats weight, hormones, hair and skin. For weight loss, a licensed provider reviews your intake online and may prescribe a GLP-1 such as semaglutide or tirzepatide [1]. It advertises no membership requirement.

What it prescribes

Its two main GLP-1 products are compounded semaglutide and compounded tirzepatide injections. The product pages say compounded medications have not been reviewed or approved by FDA for safety, effectiveness or quality [2]. It also lists brand-name pills, the Wegovy pill and Foundayo. The company says it does not sell brand-name drugs itself: if a provider prescribes one, an independent pharmacy fills it [3]. Its site also names Contrave and metformin for weight loss, which are not GLP-1s.

What it costs

Compounded semaglutide starts at $119 a month [4] and compounded tirzepatide at $159 a month [5]. “Starts at” means the price you pay may be higher depending on the plan you choose, and the pages do not show the full price list. For the compounded products, the company says one price covers care, medication and shipping [6].

For the Wegovy pill and Foundayo, the pages show only “as low as $0 copay” and say eligible patients may qualify for low or $0 copay programs [7]. No cash price for brand-name drugs is published, so you would learn it only after a prescription. The site does not say whether it bills insurance.

Signing up and cancelling

Some patients are asked for lab results from the last 12 months or medical records before a prescription [8]. You cancel by contacting support at least 24 hours before your current period ends [9]. Money already paid is unlikely to come back: membership, consultation and medication fees are all listed as non-refundable [10]. Problems with an order must be reported within 24 hours of delivery [11]. If you want your prescription sent to a pharmacy of your choice, its terms charge a $150 coordination fee [12].

Its terms say it serves all 50 states plus Puerto Rico and Guam [13].

Safety and regulatory record

We searched FDA’s warning letter database for Pomegranate and found no letter. One wording point is worth knowing. Its compounded product pages describe the drug as coming direct from an “FDA-licensed manufacturer” [14]. FDA has told telehealth companies not to claim a compounded drug comes from an FDA-licensed facility, because FDA does not approve or license any facility [15]. Treat that phrase as marketing, not as an FDA endorsement.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

It suits a price-focused buyer who has decided on a compounded GLP-1 and accepts that FDA has not approved it.
