What it is

SkinnyRx is an online weight-loss service that sells GLP-1 injections and daily tablets on a monthly subscription. It describes one monthly charge that covers the medicine, clinician support, shipping and a nutrition, fitness and sleep program [1]. A licensed clinician reviews an online evaluation before prescribing [6]. FDA sent the company, Lean Rx, Inc. doing business as SkinnyRx, a warning letter in February 2026 [12].

What it prescribes

Mostly compounded drugs. FDA’s letter says the website offered compounded semaglutide and tirzepatide [9], and SkinnyRx’s own footer says compounded semaglutide is not FDA approved or evaluated [4]. FDA says it does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold [13]. A compounded product is a different product from an approved brand.

What it costs

SkinnyRx says injections are typically $99 for the first month and tablets $149 to $199 for the first month, depending on the medicine [2]. Those figures come from a comparison article SkinnyRx publishes on its own blog [8].

Signing up and cancelling

SkinnyRx’s terms load by script, so we read them in a browser. You can cancel a subscription at any time [21], and the cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period [14]. To stop the next renewal, cancel at least five days before it is processed [15]. Partly used periods are not refunded [16]; any refund SkinnyRx does approve waits until unopened medicine has been returned to the pharmacy [17]. A 90-day money-back guarantee covers members who do not lose measurable weight in their first 90 days [18], but only if they meet its conditions, such as logging their weight in the app every week [19]. Safety and regulatory record

FDA reviewed the skinnyrx.com website in December 2025 [9]. Its warning letter said the product photos showed “SkinnyRx” on the label, which suggested SkinnyRx made the drugs when it did not [10]. FDA also objected to claims that tied the compounded drugs to brand-name medicines, saying they implied an FDA approval or review that never happened [11].

SkinnyRx says its prescribers may use compounded medicines to meet patient needs or during drug shortages [7]. FDA’s database listed no close-out letter when this page was updated, so we treat the letter as open. Because of the letter, and because it sells compounded drugs, GLPLens does not link to SkinnyRx.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

SkinnyRx may suit someone who wants a compounded GLP-1 tablet or injection with the medicine bundled into one monthly charge and a low first month.
