GoodRx for Weight Loss (GoodRx Care Direct) review

What it is

GoodRx, best known for its prescription discount coupons, runs an online care subscription called GoodRx Care Direct. Its weight-loss plan costs $39 a month for care, and the medicine is not included [1] [2]. Visits are with clinicians from affiliated medical groups, and prescriptions are filled by partner pharmacies such as Birdi, HealthDyne, FuzeRx and HoneyBee Health [16].

What it prescribes

Brand-name drugs only. GoodRx says the program uses only FDA-approved medications [3], and its page lists the Wegovy pill, Wegovy and Wegovy HD pens, Foundayo and the Zepbound KwikPen. We found no compounded GLP-1 on its weight-loss pages.

What it costs

You pay the $39 monthly care fee plus the medicine [1]. GoodRx’s published drug prices:

• Wegovy pill: from $149 at the 1.5 mg dose [9]; $199 for 4 mg and from $299 for higher doses [6]. These match the maker’s own NovoCare prices [10].
• Wegovy pen: an intro price applies to the first two fills at the two lowest doses, then $349 a month; the offer ends December 31, 2026 [4].
• Wegovy HD (7.2 mg): $399 a month through December 31, 2026 [5].
• Foundayo: an intro price at the two lowest doses, $199 for 5.5 mg, then $299 a month for higher doses, all until December 31, 2026 [7].
• Zepbound KwikPen: from $299 a month [8]. GoodRx does not list its higher-dose prices; LillyDirect charges from $449 a month for the top dose when you refill on time [18].

If you already have a prescription, GoodRx says you can skip the subscription and use a GoodRx coupon for Wegovy or Zepbound pens at your own pharmacy [17]. Our savings check compares these routes.

GoodRx Care Direct is not insurance [2], and it cannot be combined with Medicare or Medicaid [15]. We found no page saying it bills your health plan for the drug. If your plan covers GLP-1s, see our coverage guide first.

Signing up and cancelling

The plan renews automatically. GoodRx offers one, three, six and twelve month billing cycles [13]. You can cancel from your account dashboard at least one day before renewal to avoid the next charge [12]. Amounts paid for visits and prescriptions are not refundable [14]. Where it operates

Weight-loss treatment through GoodRx Care Direct is not offered in Alabama or Louisiana [11].

Safety and regulatory record

GoodRx’s weight-loss plan prescribes FDA-approved brand-name drugs only [3]. GLPLens searched FDA’s warning-letter database in September and found no letter to GoodRx.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

GoodRx suits people paying cash for a brand-name GLP-1 who want a cheap monthly care fee and published drug prices close to the makers’ own. It does not suit people on Medicare or Medicaid, people in Alabama or Louisiana, or anyone who wants insurance to pay for the medicine through the program.
