MEDVi review

What it is

MEDVi is an online weight-loss service that sells compounded GLP-1 medicines and also offers brand-name Wegovy and Zepbound for a separate membership fee [2] [3]. It is a different company from MEDvidi, which has its own review. Clinicians from OpenLoop Health decide whether to prescribe [6], and MEDVi says it does not make the compounded drugs itself [7]. FDA sent MEDVi a warning letter in February 2026 [14].

What it prescribes

Both kinds. Its GLP-1 page says providers may prescribe compounded GLP-1 medicines when appropriate [3]. MEDVi’s own footer says compounded drugs are not FDA approved [1], and FDA says it does not review compounded drugs for safety, effectiveness or quality before they are sold [18]. A compounded injection is a different product from an approved pen.

The same page lists the Wegovy pill, the Wegovy pen and the Zepbound pen as brand-name options, each marked as subject to availability [2]. See our Wegovy and Zepbound pages for what the approved drugs are cleared to treat.

What it costs

For the brand-name drugs, MEDVi lists a $99 membership plus the cost of the medicine [2]. We found no price for the medicine itself on its pages, so check the makers’ own cash prices in our savings check first.

For the compounded program, MEDVi says one price covers the physician review, a personal plan, guidance and the medicine shipped to your door [4]. Every MEDVi prescription is cash-pay, although it says insurance may reimburse some people for brand-name options [5].

MEDVi’s GLP-1 page fills in those prices with a script, so we read it in a browser: its GLP-1 injections start at $179 [19] and its GLP-1 tablets at $249 [20]. These are starting prices; the page does not give a price for each dose or say what later months cost.

Signing up and cancelling

MEDVi says you can cancel at any time for any reason [8]. The request has to reach it at least 72 hours before your next billing date [9]. On a monthly plan there is no refund for the month you cancel in, or for earlier months [10]. If a provider turns you down for a medical reason, you get a full refund [11].

Safety and regulatory record

FDA reviewed MEDVi’s website at medvi.io in December 2025 [14]. Its letter said the product photos showed “MEDVi” on the label, which suggested MEDVi made the drugs when it did not [15]. FDA also objected to website claims that tied the compounded drugs to brand-name products, saying they implied an FDA approval or review that never happened [16].

The letter went to MEDVi, LLC at a Delaware address [17], the same address its medvi.org terms give today [13]. FDA’s database listed no close-out letter when this page was updated, so we treat the letter as open. Because of the letter, and because it sells compounded drugs, GLPLens does not link to MEDVi.

Who it suits, and who should look elsewhere

MEDVi may suit someone who wants a compounded GLP-1 program with the medicine bundled into one cash price, or a membership route to a Wegovy or Zepbound prescription. Look elsewhere if an open FDA warning letter concerns you, if you want to see every price before you start, or if you need to know up front that your state is covered.
